Asking for help isn’t always easy. Sometimes, life feels overwhelming, past experiences resurface, or we struggle to put feelings into words. You may feel stuck, uncertain, or unsure where to turn.
Therapy provides the space to explore your emotions in a way that feels right for you—whether that’s through talking, creative expression, or a combination of both.
I offer a warm, confidential, and non-judgemental space where we can work together at your pace.
I’m Sheila White, a HCPC-registered Dramatherapist and a member of the British Association of Dramatherapists (BADTH), with over 20 years’ experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in mental health, and autism.
My experience includes working in forensic mental health, psychiatric care units, and therapeutic schools, supporting individuals dealing with anxiety, trauma, grief, and complex emotional challenges. My approach is compassionate, creative, and client-led, allowing us to work at your pace in a way that feels safe and comfortable for you.
Dramatherapy is a form of psychotherapy that combines talking therapy with creative techniques like storytelling, drawing, roleplay, movement, and visual art. It provides a different way to explore emotions—especially when words alone feel difficult or limiting.
Many people worry that drama therapy means they will have to act, but this isn’t the case. It’s simply about using creativity as a tool for self-expression and healing, if that feels right for you.
If you prefer to talk, that’s absolutely fine—therapy is tailored to your needs, and you are always in control of how we work.
I work with adults, and young people who are navigating a range of challenges, including anxiety, trauma, stress, self-doubt, loss, and life transitions. Many of the people I work with feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure how to process what they are going through. Therapy provides a way to explore these feelings in a safe and supportive environment.
People come to me for support with:
Each person is different, and my approach is tailored to meet individual needs. Some people prefer to talk, while others find that creative techniques like storytelling, drawing or roleplay, which can help them to express emotions in a different way.
